I grew up in Kent, and have drawn and painted since I was a child.  I went on to train in architecture, working as an architect in practices in Kent, London and Birmingham.  I moved to Birmingham in 2004, and as I discovered the city, I started to draw its many interesting buildings.  This resulted in several exhibitions, and gradually grew into John Gage Design as it is today.  I have exhibited at various Birmingham venues including Blakesley Hall, Sarehole Mill, The All Saints Centre, The Moseley Exchange and the Botanical Gardens, and continue to sell my work online and at local arts markets.  I also accept commissions and have completed art commissions for the Birmingham Botanical Gardens and more recently for the University of Birmingham Department of Endocrinology.
